Mount Ijen or well-known as Kawah Ijen is a Famous Tourist Destination on Java, this is nature attraction which is offers beautiful panoramic scene. Wake up early is needed here, because the best time to visit this volcano is in the morning, when the sun not shining yet. Especially when you want to see one and the only Blue flame attraction, it is only seen during the dark and Only at Mount Ijen.
To visit Mount Ijen, you some extra preparations, here some list which you need to know;
- Health physically, Due to challenging trekking (3.4 Km , 1 5 hour) you need to be fit, and do not have any asthma, because the sulphuric smoke are not good for those who has asthma, and normally you are not allowed to go.
- Warm Clothes, early morning usually the temperatur quite low and sometimes windy, warm clothes are needed here.
- Proper shoes, trekking path has some combination material, rocky path on the way down to the crater for blue flame, gravel on some part and on the way back down a bit slippery, trekking shoes and walking stick will help you in this part.
- Head Lamp, because you leave during the dark, head lamp is one the most important one. Make sure do not use it or shining it to, when you are already got the blue flame area. Light from any lamps are destroy the beauty of this Blue Flame
- Gas Mask and Google, very vital things which is you have to have it. Sulphuric Smoke are unhealthy, gas mask and google protect you from the spicy smoke which attack your nose and eyes.
- Tour Guide, Tour guide will lead you and explain you about the location and he/she knows where to go, a good photo spot, and he/she also your photographer. Try to find a fluently English or other Language speaking Tourist Guide.
